Member of the Jury

Jamil Farajov was born in 1946, in Baku. Studied at the faculty of oil-field, Azerbaijan Oil and Chemistry Institute named after M.Azizbeyov, and also at the faculty of TV Producers of Leningrad State Theater, Music and Cinematography Institute. Worked for Television in Azerbaijan, since 1970 started to work as a director at documentary union of “Azerbaijanfilm” state studio. He has become author of numerous documentaries, more than 30 feature and documentary plots for satirical magazine “Mozalan”, television feature film “My wife, my children”, director and script-writer of chronicle movie magazines. In 1990-1995, he worked as a member of the Central Election Commission. Within these years, he worked in various management positions at the film studio. Artistic director of “Yaddash” studio and director of documentary films (1997-2002), Head of Cinema Affairs Office of Ministry of Culture (2002-2006), Head of Division of Cinematography Dept. of Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
